It’s was long time ago I went to Midvalley for shopping. One Sunday I went there lunch appointment with friends and I went to Tower Record. I’s looking for Sheryl Crow & 陈绮贞latest album . However, I could not found these 2 but accidentally found this one – JLP - 10 years anniversary commemorative edition.
Wow! When I first heard and know about Alanis Morissette was 10 years ago. In 1996, she won the Grammy award and her album became the best selling album of the year. She even beat Maria Carey and Winston Houston. Since then, I start admiring her and her music until today.
That year a controversy was happen in here where one of the songs in JLP - Jagged Little Pill consists of a FUCK word in the lyric. Everyone was arguing and conservative people sure ask to ban this album totally. At last the company came out with a sensor version of JLP for radio. Haha, Malaysia always is the battle ground of conservative feudal mind and model liberal mind.
Alanis music is so powerful and fascinating. The song I like most is Ironic. Look at the lyric.

After JLP album, the following are : Supposed Former Infatuation(1998), Alanis MTV Unplugged(1999), Under Rug Swept (2002) & So-called Chaos (2004).
Another few songs from Alanis that I like most are: Angel & Uninvited from City of Angel OST and King of Pain from mtv unplugged album.
When I saw this album, I’s in dilemma. I have this album already, shall I buy this JLP – 10 year anniversary edition with a few acoustic version inside? Why she re-publish the album that makes her famous in 10 years ago? Is Alanis in bottle neck & crisis now? Is the company just wanted to earn money from her fan like me? World become more and more commercialize, the capital world make us suffer without feeling and enjoy been torched. The commercialism not only happens in material goods but in politics, media & culture. Go read龙应台《野火集》～二十周年纪念版的新序,you will understand the observation. (Another 20 years anniversary edition? Another author trying to make money?)Those who have much more clearer mind will continue to suffer. So shall I drunk in this world or awake from it?
Well, at last I bought it. I bought JLP album when I already had it, ironic? Haha.
